Projects
What we do beyond the gallery space itself. Kunstløypa along the river, the porcelain bursary, the Greenlight festival, and the Ovnsvakta building arriving in 2027 — projects that span years, require partners, and bring art out to the places people already are. Rooted in porcelain, but not confined by it.

Kunstløypa mellom bruene
Kunstløypa mellom bruene foregrounds the connections between the things that make Porsgrunn distinctive: the porcelain, the river, the landscape, the people and the bridges that tie it all together. Initiated by Kunsthall Grenland in collaboration with Porsgrunn municipality.

Porsgrunds Porselensstipend
An annual working bursary — a three-month residency at the 1400 Porcelain Workshop.

Greenlight
An interdisciplinary festival about art, ecology and technology. Held as a triennial in Porsgrunn and Skien.

Ovnsvakta
A new multi-purpose building with a wood-fired ceramics kiln, workshop and public outdoor space by the river. Replacing the current Portvakta.
We build few projects, but big ones.
Exhibitions have a short life — six weeks, perhaps eight. Projects are what we do with the long time: a permanent work along the river that stays standing, a new building opening in 2027, a festival that returns every third year. It takes partners — Spriten Kunsthall, Telemark kunstsenter, Skiens Kunstforening, Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik and Telemark Museum/Porselensmuseet.
Completed projects and what they left behind.

AfterGlow — New Nordic Porcelain
A multi-year Nordic porcelain project (2019–2022) that gathered contemporary porcelain from across the Nordic region and culminated in a major exhibition in Porsgrunn.

Greenlight 2024 — The Curse of an Unstoppable Appetite
The fourth edition of the Greenlight triennial — on extraction, consumption and climate in Grenland and the wider world.
